A Russian official said there was a threat of repeated strikes. If the dam continues to collapse, flooding threatens more than 1 thousand people

“Therefore, we are starting to offer travel to temporary accommodation centers in Belgorod for residents who may be at risk of flooding and who have no other option for temporary resettlement,” he wrote in Telegram.

The Russian Telegram channel MNS wrote the day before that the Ukrainian army allegedly hit the dam of the Belgorod reservoir with three HIMARS missiles.

“As a result of the arrival, several buildings with technical equipment, the lifting mechanisms of one of the sluice gates and the crest of the dam were damaged. Two people were injured: a civilian and a National Guard soldier; they had multiple shrapnel wounds,” the message said.

Without specifying the sources of the data, the channel stated yesterday that the integrity of the dam has not been compromised and there is no threat of flooding of the nearest settlements.
