Barcelona is led by Marcus Sorg. Kimmich's “godfather” and former European champion coach with Germany U21

Beyond the notable absences of Raphinha, Lewandowski, Joan Garcia, Dani Olmo and Gavi, Barcelona did not have Flick on the bench either. Assistant Marcus Sorg will be on the sidelineswho replaced Hansi in Spain in last season's match with Leganés and in some press meetings.

Marcus Sorg will sit on the technical bench of Barcelona tomorrow in the derby with Real Madrid

The 59-year-old coach is an engineer, just like Manuel Pellegrini, the current coach of Betis Sevilla. MARCA writes that in 2013 Sorg took charge of the German U19 national team and won the European Championship.

“He has proven to be a great spotter of young talent, launching Joshua Kimmich, the jewel of his CV, which also includes other talents such as Gnabry, Süle, Brandt and Weigl.

Sorg also worked with Hrubesch as head coach in the campaign that brought Germany the silver medal at the 2016 Brazil Olympics,” writes the Spanish daily.

He is always very focused. He meticulously analyzes each opponent and always knows what to do. He communicates very well with his players
