Only one step left, and the Superliga team can return to their own stadium

New details about the “1 Mai” arena in Slobozia, the stadium whose works have been completed. All that is needed is the installation of the night installation.

Unirea Slobozia is one step away from returning home, after playing in Clinceni in recent seasons. The team coached by Andrei Prepelita could play the very first match of 2026 in their own city.

GSP.ro sources reveal that on Friday, August 28, LPF officials, representatives of TV rights, but also of the authorities were at the stadium in Slobozia in order to approve the arena.

Only the installation of the nocturnal installation is needed, which is delayed. It was ordered from Valyciprihos Prod SR, a company that has brought mobile night lights to several Romanian Cup matches.

The club officials have promises that it will arrive by January, so that the first match of the new year, with UTA Arad, will be played in Slobozia.

The upgraded arena benefits from a new, hybrid turf with a tartan running track, drainage system, automatic irrigation and electric heating. Work only started on May 30, 2025, with a delay of almost 10 months. The stadium has a capacity of approximately 6,000 seats.

As far as I know, Slobozia is going to move to the new stadium by the end of the year. When the people there notify us, they immediately send the people to do the homologation. They promised so. It was supposed to be ready in the summer, but it has been extended until now. How everything has been delayed in this country and there are some problems.

You have also seen what is happening with the stadiums in Timișoara, Constanța or elsewhere, which are under construction. At Slobozia, everything is nearing completion, and at Clinceni, some changes have been made, the changing rooms have been modernized.
