A 48-year-old man was seriously injured on Saturday after being crushed by the truck he was trying to repair. The incident took place in the town of Runcu, Constanța county, around 2:20 p.m., Ziua de Constanța reports.

The crews of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) Dobrogea intervened urgently with a water and foam extinguishing vehicle, a SMURD B Hârșova crew, a Medgidia extrication crew, the Palas truck crane and a SMURD helicopter.
The crews managed to extract the victim from under the truck and immediately began resuscitation maneuvers.
Sources from among the investigators stated that the man was with the truck in the yard of a commercial company to unload sunflowers. Following a technical failure of the tipper, the victim went under the tractor head, but hit an air cushion, which broke and crushed him.
“The crews intervened to extract the victim from under the truck and resuscitation measures were applied”, the representatives of ISU Dobrogea sent.
Following the intervention, the man responded to resuscitation maneuvers and was transported by the SMURD helicopter to the Constanța County Emergency Clinical Hospital.
The police opened an investigation to establish exactly the circumstances of the accident.
