In the following years, the group gradually tightened its cooperation with the Civic Platform, creating joint electoral lists as part of the Civic Coalition, and in 2020 it finally became one of its pillars.
Although Nowoczesna has lost its political independence in recent years, its politicians played an important role in building a broad opposition front, which led to a change of power in 2023. Adam Szłapka himself, who has been the party's chairman since 2019, took up the position of government spokesman in Donald Tusk's cabinet after the 2023 parliamentary elections.
The decision to formally end Nowoczesna's activities is symbolic – it closes the stage of functioning of the group, which introduced a strong liberal, modernization and economic theme into Polish politics. In practice, its structures and activists will remain active within the Civic Coalition, co-creating its program and expert base.
