According to “WSJ”, US officials expect Ukraine to carry out more attacks using Storm Shadow missiles. The United States may limit their use because the missiles rely on American targeting data.
Storm Shadow missiles have a range of approximately 250-300 km and are launched from aircraft. They are characterized by advanced guidance systems, high accuracy and the ability to avoid terrain obstacles thanks to the built-in GPS system.
The newspaper recalled that former President Joe Biden, at the end of his term, gave consent for Ukraine to use Storm Shadow missiles and American ATACMS missiles against targets in Russia. However, after Trump took office, the Pentagon implemented a procedure to authorize cross-border attacks using U.S. missiles or missiles from other countries, including Storm Shadow.
