Retailer Flanco has announced when this year's Black Friday edition will begin, an edition that will last for five weeks. Flanco will hold Black Friday between October 24th and November 30th, while eMAG will hold Black Friday in one day on November 7th.
The Black Friday shopping phenomenon started in Romania in 2011 and reached the 15th edition. In the first years, Black Friday was held after November 20, but eMAG took the discount day to the first half of the month, and in the last two years even to the first decade.
In the US, the original Black Friday will be held on November 28, the Friday after Thanksgiving Day.
Altex announced that it will organize Black Friday 2025 between October 30 and November 19, with the campaign having 21 days. Among the big retailers, Flanco has the longest Black Friday campaign in 2025: 38 days.
Flanco will organize the Black Friday campaign both online, on flanco.ro, and in the 162 stores in the country. Customers using the Flanco Smart Discounter app will get early access to Black Friday deals, one day before the official launch on October 23, the company says.
Flanco also gave some examples of “star” products: Samsung Galaxy A56 smartphone (8GB + 128GB) for 1,399 lei, iPhone 15 (128GB) for 3,299 lei, Lenovo IP3 Slim 15.6″ laptop for 1,799 lei, QLED Android TV 100 cm for 799 lei, Tefal hot air fryer (7L) for 399 lei or Philips automatic espresso machine for 999 lei.
