Defeated by rival Rapid in the pride derby, 0-2Dinamo is preparing its field for a complicated trip to the fiefdom of the newly promoted FC Argeș. Florin Borța, the defender of Pitesti, is convinced that the white-violets will make life difficult for the “dogs”, on Friday, from 20:30, on “Orășenescul” in Mioveni.
A mainstay at FC Argeș since the second league, the 26-year-old right defender, with nine appearances in the current season, spoke to Gazeta Sporturilor about the importance of the match with Dinamo. The red-whites are thus returning to the “place of the deed”, on the field where they ticked off, in June 2023, the return to the first league, at the end of a “double” of pomina, 8-5 overall.
The “dogs” then scored eight times in the goal of Pitesti, whose situation changed significantly from that moment. From a team humiliated at the “barrage”, FC Argeș turned, within two years, into one of the surprises of the Superliga. Nearing the end of the tour, Andone's band sit in a play-off spot, just a few points off first place.
Florin Borța, ready to give a solid reply to Dinamo: “We all know what that moment meant!”
“The mood is very good. We are motivated, focused, we have prepared very well for this match. We know we are facing a valuable opponent, but we trust the strength of the group and we want to prove on the field that we can get a positive result.
I, personally, was not in the squad for that match (no “dam” with Dinamo from 2023), but we all know what that moment meant to the club and to the supporters. Now, however, it's a different team, a different generation. We want to show that we are also a good team, that we can fight on an equal footing with anyone and get the victory for the supporters, who are always with us.

We take each match individually and try to get the most out of each match, it remains to be seen at the end of the championship where we rank”, said Borța, in a dialogue with GSP.ro.
A memory that still haunts the people of Arges
In the summer of 2023, Dinamo secured their Superliga tickets after a heart attack “barrage” with FC Argeș. It was 8-5 overall for the team then coached by Ovidiu Burcă!
The Bucharest tour ended with an unlikely outcome! The red-whites prevailed 6-1 against the higher echelon opponent. The return from Mioveni was agonizing. FC Argeș led at one point with 4-1, but the “film” of the purple eagles broke after the elimination of Calcan. Dynamo reduced the difference, promoting in the first league despite the 2-4 defeat.
FC Argeș restructured massively from that moment, even if it had to endure another year in “exile” of the second league. Only Andrei Tofan, injured for months, the kid Yanis Pîrvu and Cătălin Straton, reserve this season, are still in the extended team of Pitesti today. Even Dinamo has nothing to do with the team since then. In the group of “dogs”, there is no player who took part in the “barrage” with FC Argeș!
