They forced him to eat washing powder and broke his leg: a mother and her partner abused their 12-year-old son for more than six months in Kuzbass
The family moved to Prokopyevsk several months ago. All this time the boy did not go to school, so no one knew about the child’s condition. The family is antisocial, but was not registered, the media reported.
As it turned out, the mother and stepfather beat the child, starved him, left him in the cold without outer clothing, broke his leg with an iron poker for not doing chores and forced him to eat washing powder, the Investigative Committee reported.
In November, a child had to have his lip sewn up after being beaten. According to the Investigative Committee, the stepfather and his wife did this for profit. The boy now has a defect on his face for the rest of his life.
The child has now been transferred to a social institution. The stepfather refused to testify, so the reasons for the abuse are unknown.
The man was arrested until January 27, 2025, the prosecutor's office said. The child's mother was detained.
Criminal cases of “torture” and “failure to fulfill educational responsibilities” have been opened.
