Rinat Akhmetov (59 years old), the owner of Shakhtior Donetsk, wants to buy the Liberty Galati steel plant, formerly Sidex.
Rinat Akhmetov is one of the richest people in Ukraine, but also in the world, and he is the founder of the SCM (System Capital Management) holding, with activities in metallurgy, energy, mining, oil, gas and telecommunications.
