According to the Public Prosecutor's Office attached to the Sibiu Court, on October 17, a prosecutor from the institution filed an ex officio complaint regarding the commission of the crime of murder, related to family violence.

From the investigations carried out, the investigators established that on that day, a 54-year-old man requested, through the single emergency service 112, the presence of an ambulance at home because his mother was ill. Later, the ambulance crew that went to the scene requested the presence of a police crew because the author's mother, aged 74, was deceased and had visible signs of violence, News writes.

“Following the investigations carried out, it was found that the author acted with direct intent, namely watching and accepting that by strangling his mother he would cause her mechanical asphyxiation and ultimately her death. The strangulation was preceded by repeated blows to the victim with blunt objects”states the quoted source.

By the ordinance of the Public Prosecutor's Office attached to the Sibiu Court of October 18, it was ordered to continue the criminal investigation against the 54-year-old man, and by the ordinance of the same date, it ordered the initiation of the criminal action against him for murder, related to domestic violence.

Initially detained for 24 hours, the man was remanded in custody for 30 days, based on the decision of the rights and freedoms judge at the Sibiu Court.
