It was invented 250 years ago and consists of two slices of bread between which meat is placed or fish, cured meats and cheeses, vegetables and sauces“.
For those who prefer unprocessed meat, Bilic recommends: “You can make sandwiches with cold steak, mustard and pickles. And the fish can be put in the sandwich: smoked salmon with cream cheese and dill or tuna with egg and crudités.
However, the specialist warns of the risks of too rich sandwiches: “What's wrong with a sandwich? That it's not diet and it can endanger our figure. Attention: it's the size of the sandwich, the filling and the amount of sauce added!”
About the bought sandwiches
Mihaela Bilic recommends paying more attention to the sandwiches you buy: “Read the label and pay attention to the fat percentage. The safest are simple sandwicheswith butter, salami, ham and cheese; avoid anything that has sauces or is made into a paste – that means a lot of mayo“.
For those who care about their figure, the nutritionist offers a simple but effective tip: “If you're into shape, remove one of the two slices of bread – you'll cut your carb intake in half! There is also the sandwich option for slimmingin which the bread is replaced with lettuce leaves, bell peppers, bell peppers or cucumbers. But you have to do this one!”
