Prince Andrew is said to have tried to obtain information about the woman who accused him of sexual abuse. Police are investigating the allegations
London's Metropolitan Police announced that “check active” media reports that Prince Andrew had tried to obtain personal information about his accuser, Virginia Giuffre.

“We are aware of media reports and are actively investigating the allegations“, the institution sent on Sunday, October 19, according to the BBC.
Virginia Giuffre, who took her own life earlier this year, said she was among the girls and young women sexually exploited by convicted felon Jeffrey Epstein and his circle of influential people.
Prince Andrew has not commented on the allegations, but has consistently denied all claims made against him.
Giuffre also claimed she was forced to have sex with Andrew on three occasions, including when she was 17 in 2001 at the London home of her friend Ghislaine Maxwell.
Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence on sex-trafficking charges related to her ex-boyfriend, Epstein.
According to the Mail on Sunday, Andrew allegedly asked his protection officer to investigate Giuffre even before the newspaper published a photo of their first date in February 2011.
The newspaper claims the prince gave the officer the woman's date of birth and social security number.
And the Sunday Telegraph reported that Andrew “tried to find compromising information” about Giuffre.
British Energy Secretary Ed Miliband told BBC One's Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg that the allegations were “deeply worrying” and added that if confirmed, “that is in no way how protection officers should be used.”
Recently, Andrew announced that he is giving up all royal titles, including that of Duke of York.
“After speaking with the King (Charles III, his elder brother) and my family, I have come to the conclusion that the continued accusations against me are detrimental to the work of Her Majesty and the Royal Family. I have decided, as I have always done, to prioritize my duty to my family and my country”, according to a statement from the prince.
