Kwaśniewski fell victim to fake news from the Russians. He reveals how it happened

Last Saturday, Aleksander Kwaśniewski appeared at the Catholic University of Lublin, where he gave a lecture. One of the main topics the former president of Poland talked about was the development of technology, social media, artificial intelligence and all the threats associated with it. The politician gave fake news as an example. At the same time, Aleksander Kwaśniewski openly admitted that he himself had fallen victim to them.
It was probably a year or two ago. They call my secretariat and say that they are calling from the secretariat of former Ukrainian President Poroshenko, whom I knew well, and that he would like to communicate with me on Zoom.
— said Aleksander Kwaśniewski.
He added that he agreed to it very willingly.
We agreed on all these parameters. I open this screen and I see Poroshenko in this field uniform. We speak a little English, a little Russian. Finally he says, well, “let's talk in the aggressor's language,” which means we spoke in Russian
— reported the former president.

Former president reveals. “I myself fell victim to fake news.” The Russians deceived him
Aleksander Kwaśniewski admitted that during this conversation he did not say anything from which he would later withdraw, because his views are generally known and unchanged.
What it turned out was that it was a fake organized by the Russians, who later took advantage of it. Later, Sikorski was involved in the same conversation with Poroshenko. Well, hand on heart, I saw Poroshenko on the screen, I heard Poroshenko, it was his voice. If I can be deceived like that, what about voters around the world?
– said Aleksander Kwaśniewski.
It can be easily introduced into raspberries and the effect may be that we destroy the one we want to destroy. And the other one, who has nothing to say, tells us such wonderful things that we are ready to fall in love with him
– added the former president.
At the end of the discussion on fake news, Aleksander Kwaśniewski emphasized how important it is to fight this type of manipulation. He appealed to journalists, politicians and legislators to work together to consider how to do this.
