In the Gaza Strip, 60.2 percent buildings were damaged or destroyed as a result of warfare, said expert Corey Scherm from Oregon State University in an interview with the BBC. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that his government would provide assistance in rebuilding the area.

Scherm estimated, based on data from the European Space Agency, that almost 199,000 were destroyed. buildings.
The station cited data previously published by representatives of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), which shows that over 80 percent all buildings in the Gaza Strip were destroyed or damaged. The cost of reconstruction may amount to USD 70 billion.
British expert on urban reconstruction, Philip Bouverat, said that the scale of destruction would require expenditures of around USD 50 billion. In his opinion, this money should be used to help the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip “take part in the reconstruction of their country and take responsibility for it.”
On Tuesday, before the House of Commons, Prime Minister Keir Starmer reported on the signing of the peace agreement regarding the Gaza Strip on Monday in Egypt. He admitted that “making this peace last will not be an easy task” and implementing the peace plan “is not a small challenge.”
The head of government announced that the UK intends to offer its expertise in three areas: helping in the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, the destruction of which is “indescribable”, supporting the transitional arrangements and ensuring security in the process of monitoring the ceasefire.
According to Starmer, allowing international media to enter the Gaza Strip will lead to a wider debate about “all the horror” that happened there.
At the same time, he admitted that a two-state solution, including the creation of a sovereign Palestine, currently has the best chance of implementation since the signing of the Oslo Accords in 1993, which recognized Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization.
