As the ministry explained, submitting the application is the first stage of the process – i.e. a formal application for the initiative. Poland is a consortium leader. According to MC information, an advanced center with high computing power with its registered office in Poland will be created as part of the project, the development of Polish and Baltic language models, such as plumb and white -tailed, and integration of generative AI with tools and administrative processes.

In February this year. The head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced that the EU Investai Fund, with a budget of EUR 20 billion, will finance four gigafabrics of artificial intelligence in the EU. Gigafabrines are to combine powerful computing powers with low -emission data centers.

According to the current proposal, Gigafactory would be located in Polandmaximum in two locations, which will ensure high performance and low delays. The proposed project budget is EUR 3 billion. Most of this amount will be allocated to investment outlays necessary for the construction and launch of AI Gigafactory. With 65 percent the total investment will be covered with private capital. The investment will be based on the capital contributions of project partners and Venture Capital funds and other financial investors.

Baltic Ai Gigafactory is to be designed to support the development, train and implement very large AI models and applications on an unprecedented scale. It will be adapted to both the needs related to training and inventing AI models.

As the ministry emphasized, several locations are currently being considered. They all should offer appropriate capacity, access to 100 percent. green energy and appropriate power supply and cooling systems. Baltic Ai Gigafactory would be implemented in the stages to enable the accompanying infrastructure adapt and provide long -term sustainable technological effectiveness.

According to the Ministry of Digitization, the project will be fully balanced and profitable commercially, and the estimated revenues should cover operating costs, provide positive cash flows and a high return on investment for private partners and investors.

The consortium, next to Poland and three Baltic States, include companies from the AI industry in the regionsuch as Allegro, Beyond.pl, Cloudferro, Greenergy Data Center, Orange Polska, Skeleton Technologies, Synerise, UAB, Wirtualna Polska et al. The consortium has the support of research institutions such as Cyfronet, PCSS, IDEAS Research Institute and NASK PIB, Technical University of Riga, University of Vilnius, the Latvian University and the University of Tartu, Artificial Intelligence Asosiacion (Mila), Likta.

“I am proud that Poland co -creates a coalition of states and entities for the development of AI. The creation of Baltic Ai Gigafactory will provide world -class computing infrastructure for researchers, entrepreneurs, industry and citizens from all over the region. Gigafactory will work closely with national AI centers in Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius, Krakow, Gdańsk, Gdańsk, Wrocław and Warsaw. When creating a combined and scalable innovation ecosystem.

In turn, according to the Minister of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania Lukas Savickas, every major investment in Poland, Lithuania, Latvia or Estonia is an investment in the security and economic strength of the entire Baltic region. “Therefore, we must act as one integrated space – quickly, innovative and reliably. In sectors such as defense, artificial intelligence or green technologies we can – and we must – develop together if we want to stand side by side in the geopolitical arena” – added Savickas. (PAP)
