Donald Trump on draconian tariffs on China: unsustainable

For several days, the business world has been living with Donald Trump's threats against China. In response to restrictions on rare earth metals, the US president began talking about 100% tariffs on goods from the world's second largest economy.
President Donald Trump on Fox Business said that customs duties of 157 percent on Chinese imports are “unsustainable”.
“It's not sustainable, but that's the number. They forced me to do it” Donald Trump said in his first interview since negotiating a historic Middle East peace agreement.

Fox Business recalls that tensions between Washington and Beijing have escalated after the United States announced plans to double tariffs on selected Chinese goods earlier this week, which are expected to take effect in November.
“I've always had a great relationship with them, as you know, but they are always looking for an advantage” – said Donald Trump, adding that China “has been stealing from our country for years”.
“Let me tell you, China played a nice trick on us. They took out our money. Now the tables have turned,” he said, expressing optimism about the future of trade relations between the United States and China.
