VIDEO Traffic opened on the highway that was a “museum” for several months: How the exit from the highway to Buzău was improvised

How will drivers get off the A7 in DN2 near Buzau
Almost 30 kilometers of the “Moldovei” A7 highway that were “museum” for several months were finally opened to traffic on Friday afternoon. The opening of the circulation comes with a makeshift solution at one end, however. Traffic from Bucharest is “taken off” from the highway much earlier and diverted on a county road, through a locality, until it reaches DN2.
The approximately 30 kilometers on lot 2 between Ploiești and Buzău have been “museum” for more than two months, that is, they were ready, but could not be put into circulation due to errors made by a builder from Bulgaria. In the meantime, the builder has fixed the problems, but the controversy is moving towards the end of the lot from Buzău.
Improvised unloading at the end from Buzau
The initial plan was that the opening of traffic on lot 2 would be done in conjunction with the opening of a piece of several kilometers of the adjacent lot 3, built by Nurol, as well as part of the road junction with DN2. In practice, drivers could have driven directly to DN2-Buzăului Ring Road.
The new information shows, however, that CNAIR and the Turkish builder Nurol on Lot 3 failed to complete the works for such an opening of traffic in time, and instead the drivers on the A7 will have to be diverted through a village, on a county road.
Only one shoulder from the junction with DN2 will be ready on Friday, so only drivers on the Buzău-București route will be able to go directly onto the highway.
Those who will drive in the Bucharest-Buzău direction will be “taken off” from the highway earlier, at the intersection with DJ203G in the town of Pietrosu. They will go about 2 km then on the county road, through the town, until the intersection with DN2, where a roundabout was improvised.

According to the Pro Infrastructure Association, with Friday's opening, the Romanian network of highways and express roads in operation reaches 1,353.4 kilometers, of which 83.54 kilometers were inaugurated in 2025.
