The verification is already available and is done exclusively on the official website of the US State Department: Dvprogram.State.gov/ESSC. To find out the result, it is necessary to introduce:

· Unique confirmation number received at registration,

· Family name exactly as it was entered in the form,

· Year of birth.

Careful! The State Department does not send emails or notifications to the selected. The only safe and official way to check is through the online platform, on Dvprogram.State.gov/esc. Beware of fraud attempts or unofficial sites that promise faster access for a fee.

It is important to note that the selection does not automatically guarantee the visa – all legal steps and eligibility conditions must be respected.

The verification platform will remain active until September 30, 2026.

1. Have you been selected? Congratulations! You must know that the US State Department announces a larger number of people than the 55,000 visas available annually, because many of the selected do not meet all the eligibility conditions: the country of origin, the minimum education, the financial resources, the criminal record, the health, the complete documentation, etc.

2. Interviews start in October 2025If you have completed the DS-260 form and sent all the necessary documents, you can be scheduled for the visa interview starting with October 2025. At the interview, you must bring clear evidence regarding education (minimum high school diploma) or, in its absence, at least 2 years of recent professional experience in an eligible domain according to the database o*net.

3. Selection does not automatically mean Green CardIf you have been selected, it doesn't mean you already have the Green Card. First you get an immigrant visa. Only after entering the US physically will you be issued and sent the Green Card by mail to the desired address.

4. Do you have a record? Consult a lawyerAny criminal record (convictions, arrests, etc.) can be a reason for rejection. In such cases, it is mandatory to consult a specialized immigration lawyer before going on with the process.

5. Are you already in the US? You can adjust the statusIf you are already legal in the United States, you can apply to adjust the status to permanent resident. However, this process is often complex and depends on the individual circumstances. It is advisable to call on an immigration lawyer.

6. You must prove that you will not become a burden to the American systemAnother essential condition is to have a sponsor – a US citizen or permanent resident of the US to guarantee that you will not become a burden to the American system.

7. Don't you intend to settle permanently in the US? If you do not intend to stay in the US after obtaining the Green Card, it is good to be informed in advance about how you can keep your status as a permanent resident.

8. Green Card gives you extended rights The Green Card gives you almost the same rights as an American citizen. You will enjoy the right of work and stay in the US, without the possibility of voting or applying for a public function.
