When signing the agreement, Adrian Mutu said that “it is a great source of pride for me to collaborate with a club that marked my career and to offer young players the opportunity to grow in the same footballing philosophy that formed me as a player”.

The affiliation of the “Mutu” Academy to that of the viola club also entails “knowledge exchanges between the technical staff and training sessions with Italian coaches both in Italy and in Romania”.

Adrian Mutu, in July: “An important step that opens new perspectives for young Romanian footballers”

Adrian Mutu announced since July, following a visit to Florence, that the “foundations” of this collaboration had been laid.

“Memorable visit to Viola Park – Home of ACF Fiorentina! We had the honor of visiting the impressive Viola Park, the sports center of the ACF Fiorentina club, a model of excellence and vision in European football.

During this special visit, I met with two famous personalities of the club: Daniele Pradè, Fiorentina's sporting director; Valentino Angeloni, director of the academy.

We discussed the development of young talent, the philosophy of the club and the importance of building character, not just sporting performance.

On this occasion, I am pleased to announce that we have laid the foundations for a future collaboration / affiliation between the Adrian Mutu Academy and ACF Fiorentina – an important step that opens new perspectives for young Romanian footballers. We will formalize this collaboration in the coming weeks.

This collaboration strengthens the link between Romania and a club with tradition and prestige in Italian football, offering access to the know-how and methodology of one of the most respected academies in Serie A.

The future belongs to those who invest in education, passion and authentic partnerships”, wrote Adrian Mutu on his personal Instagram account.

Between 2006 and 2011, while he was registered there, Mutu scored 69 goals and provided 29 assists for Fiorentina.
