The World Champion Germany has shown its value in the Eurobasket 2025 final and, despite the fact that it was led for a long time by Turkey, it managed to become a European champion for the second time in history, 32 years after the previous Continental Trophy: 88-83.

Germany, proof of resistance in the European final against Turkey

Germany won the European Championship, after an 88-83 awarded final against Turkey. The national of the crescent started the excellent match, driven by a large shane Larkin and an Alperen Șengun who was the team leader throughout the tournament.

After a rest time requested by interim coach Alan Ibrahimagic, Germany returned and showed a lot of strength, and because of the star Franz Wagner. The game remained balanced and, at the break, Turkey was driving with 46-40.

After returning from the locker rooms, Șangun continued to dominate, but Dennis Schroder, who had a modest evolution until the break, raised his level and showed that the 2023 World Cup MVP.

The leaders of the World Champion at this competition are Franz Wagner (21.1 points, 5.6 recovery, 3.6 decisive passes), Dennis Schroder (20.9 points, 6.6 decisive passes, 20.1 for efficiency) and Daniel Theis (11.1 points, 6.6 Recovery, 17.8 to efficiency).

On the other side, Turkey impressed under the command of the charismatic coach Ergin Ataman, that has self -proclaimed the best European technician of the last 10 years. As arguments in favor of this are the 3 Euroliga titles won with Anadolu Ephesibul and Panathinikos Athens.

The crescent engine was undoubtedly Alperen Șengun, the star of Houston Rockets. It has averages of 20.8 points, 11.0 recovery, 7.0 decisive passes and 30.3 for efficiency, being a candidate for the MVP award of the European Championship.

Other basketball players who have left their mark on Turkey's game are Cedi Osman (Panathinikos BC), Ercan Osmani (Anadolu Ephesus) and naturalized American Shane Larkin (Anadolu Ephesus).

According to the official website of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), Turkey and Germany met 11 times, the balance sheet being favorable to the Germans: 7-4. The last duel between the two national teams took place on September 8, 2015, in the Eurobasket groups, when Turkey prevailed with 80-75.
