The sound of dripping water is not only annoying, but can also lead to high water bills. Sometimes it seems like water is oozing from everywhere. But the exact location of the leak can be found quickly and without tools.
Take a dry paper towel or piece of toilet paper. Carefully wipe the entire surface of the faucet: spout, base, handle, connection points with the sink. Make sure everything is completely dry.
Then place dry pieces of paper under the suspicious areas:
- one piece under the spout,
- one around the base of the tap,
- one under the arm.
Leave for 2-3 minutes. Where the paper becomes wet is where the leak is located.
If moisture appears under the spout, then most likely the gaskets or cartridge are worn out. If around the base, the fastening is loose or the seal at the installation site is damaged. This will help you understand exactly what to change and not waste money on unnecessary parts.
Thanks to this life hack, you will quickly find a leak and save time and money on calling a technician.
