The shaman of Alberto Villoldo, in Bucharest: “We live the most spectacular experiment in the history of biology”

In a archip hall in Bucharest, the shaman Alberto Villoldo spoke about the connection between science and spirit, about the extinction that takes place under our eyes and about the man's potential to “grow a new body and brain.” Known for his research in the neurobiology of healing and for the years spent with the shamans from Amazon and Andes, Villoldo has brought to Romania an idea that overthrows the classic perspective: evolution does not take place between generations, but within a single life.

Nicknamed by The New York Times “Indiana Jones of the spiritual world”Dr. Alberto Villoldo became friends with the Q'ero shamans in Peru long before this became a fashion. Medical anthropologist, shaman, teacher and trainer, he founded The Four Winds Society, an internationally recognized school as the gold standard in teaching energy medicine, uniting the old teachings of shamanic wisdom with the latest practices of nutrition, biology and neuroscience. He wrote over 20 books and sets of books-Oracol, most of them translated into Romanian at For You Publishing House.

From lab to jungle

“When I was a child, I saw spirits”he tells. “Later, as a neurobiologist, I lost that capacity. One night, in the laboratory, I saw five spirits who were still clinging to the brains on the shelves. Then I understood that I was more interested in the mind.”

That revelation made him give up the university career in San Francisco and go to Amazon to learn from shamans. Since then, Villoldo has united the language of science with that of spiritual initiation. In the conference, he spoke about chromosome 2 – “The genetic miracle that doubled the size of the human brain”, and suggested that this evolutionary leap could have been triggered by “The future that extends the hand to the past.”

For him, the upper brain, the neocortex, is “The temple in which man can dialogue with infinity.” “You can't change your mind without changing your brain,” says Villoldo. “The shamans from Tibet, Andes and America knew this. Their posts, breathing exercises and plants were not magic, but neuro-energetic technologies working the high part of the brain, where serotonin, DMT and ecstas experience occur.”

The new man and the experiment of life

“We live the most amazing biological experiment: that of longevity and consciousness”, explains Villoldo. “People, dolphins and whales are the only species without a genetic program of death. However, modern life has triggered a chain extinction, not only in nature, but also inside. Five hundred years ago, we had 20,000 types of beneficial bacteria; today there are only eight thousand.

For Villoldo, the new man regenerates through consciousness, not by medicines. “Science has become a new religion”he warns. “We must become our own researchers: to train the higher brain, to rewrite our story and to transform our inner chemistry.”

From death to quantum field

One of the most interesting moments of the evening was the explanation regarding the discovery of the eighth chakra: “The headquarters of the soul.” “When we die, the seven chakras of the biological body send their information to the eighth, which exists outside the space and time. From there we choose the family and the place where we will return. In therapy, we can access this plan to heal its past or to bring a healed version of our future.” explained the shaman.

In the same logic of the quantum field, Villoldo said that healing is not “done”. “When you create a sacred space in which the mind and heart align, the invisible world works with you. You do not have to force the process.”

The language of the spirit

“Spirituality is not religion. It is the science of consciousness”, he says. “Science tests theories and abandon them when the facts contradict them; religion preserves theory and ignores the facts. True knowledge is Gnosis: Direct experience. In the Incas Culture, God spoke to people every morning for breakfast. God did not cease to speak to us, but we ceased to listen.”

In the end, Alberto Villoldo reminded of an old prophecy of the Andes: “The earth is rebalanced. Storms, fires and earthquakes will come. But for those who live in harmony with the mother, the protection will come, and the blessings.”

For the Romanian public, the meeting with Alberto Villoldo was more than a conference, it was a laboratory in which biology, epigenetics and myth met in a story about transformation.

“We are not our genes, nor the drama of the family we come from”, he concluded. “We are beings in the process of becoming new people.”
