On this day, Alexey Panfilovich Barabash, Honored School Teacher of the RSFSR, was born.
Alexey Panfilovich Barabash was born on October 15, 1910 in the village of Dmitrievka, Ivanovo district, Amur region. After graduating from the school for peasant youth in 1927, he was elected secretary of the village council. Dmitrievka.
In 1932, Barabash A.P. graduated from the Blagoveshchensk Pedagogical College and was appointed a history teacher at a seven-year school at the station. Obluchye (from 1936 – secondary school No. 4), and from 1937 – director of the school.

For example, in the regional library named after. Sholom Aleichem, a large book and illustrated exhibition (0+) was opened dedicated to the poet’s anniversary. The exhibition presents the poet’s works in Russian and Hebrew and includes portraits of M. Lermontov.
The 135th anniversary of M. Lermontov is widely celebrated at enterprises and institutions of the city:
“At the confectionery factory, Komsomol member Zina Brailovskaya held a conversation among the girls of her brigade about the life and work of M. Lermontov, and after the conversation she organized a loud reading of his poems.”

Printed sources indicate different places of birth of Alexander Panov, according to some data in the village of Grigoryevka, Shakhmansky district, Voronezh region, and according to others, in the village of Volochaevka (now Smidovichsky district) of the Jewish Autonomous Region. In the questionnaire, A. Panov himself indicates his place of birth. Volochaevka.
The Red Army soldier’s award sheet states: “Called up by the Kirov RVK of Khabarovsk. The fearless son of our Motherland, Comrade Panov, in decisive battles to complete the encirclement of Berlin and capture the city of Brandenburg, showed examples of perseverance, courage and heroism. From April 26, 1945 to May 1, 1945, the regiment fought fierce battles for every meter land, The squadron captured a bridgehead on the southern bank of the Zilo Canal. The enemy, with heavy losses, managed to blow up the bridge – the squadron's escape route, and the enemy launched a counterattack. Under heavy machine-gun fire and fire from the Faustians, the squadron began to retreat. But Comrade Panov with a light machine gun, remaining to cover the squadron, boldly and steadfastly held back the onslaught of the Nazis and held the bridgehead. In this battle Comrade. Panov destroyed up to 30 enemy soldiers and officers, suppressed the fire of three enemy machine guns, thereby resolving the difficult situation of the squadron.
On April 28, 1945, the enemy again counterattacked the squadron. Comrade Panov, repelling the counterattack, did not leave the battlefield, although the second number of the machine gun crew was wounded, he continued to fulfill the assigned task of holding the bridgehead on the right bank of the canal.
Comrade Panov is worthy of the highest government award – the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.”
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 31, 1945, for the exemplary performance of the command’s combat mission in the fight against the Nazi invaders and the courage and heroism of the guard shown, Red Army soldier Alexander Semenovich Panov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal (No. 6451). Panov learned at the hospital that he had been awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
In 1947, the brave cavalryman was demobilized. Returned to the village. Volochaevka, began working at the station. Ying worked as a forwarder in a bakery, then worked long distance as a fitter and assistant mechanic. Since 1948, Alexander Semenovich Panov lived in the village. Smidovich, worked as a mechanic of a flaw detection trolley in the fifth Khabarovsk distance of the Far Eastern Railway.
While on his well-deserved retirement, Alexander Semyonovich took an active part in the military-patriotic education of children and youth.
For courage and heroism, he was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st degree, the medals “Golden Star”, “For the Capture of Berlin”, “For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”, and anniversary awards.
Alexander Semyonovich Panov died on May 5, 1992, and was buried in the central cemetery of Khabarovsk.
Name A.S. Panov is carved in gold letters on memorial plaques along with the names of all 78 Heroes of the Soviet Union of the 112th Bashkir (16th Guards Chernigov) Cavalry Division, installed in the National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan (city of Ufa, Sovetskaya Street, 14) and in the Museum of the 112th (16th Guards) Bashkir cavalry division (city of Ufa, Levitan street, 27).

The regional museum of local lore houses A. Panov's manuscripts and typewritten text. It contains the following line about the Hero’s feat: “Before leaving home, Panov wrote on the Reichstag wall: “I am from Volochaevka.”
Alexander Panov is considered their Hero not only by the residents of the village of Smidovich, where he lived almost all the post-war years, but also by the residents of the village of Volochaevka, where Panov lived before the war. On the monument erected in the village, his name is the first to be engraved.
In 2006, on the building of a rural school in the village. In Volochaevka, a memorial plaque was installed to Hero of the Soviet Union A.S. Panov, and in 2009 on the building of the railway station. In memory of the hero-countryman, a plaque was solemnly opened. In Victory Square in Birobidzhan on the Alley of Heroes there is a pylon with his name.
