In Krasnoyarsk tonight, due to frost and snowfall, combined road vehicles worked their first full winter shift. Experts eliminated the threat of icy conditions on the roadway.

This was reported to SATP: “To make the roads safe for citizens, the road service acted according to regulations. During the night shift, the equipment patrolled the main city highways: swept, shoveled snow and treated with de-icing material. Under special control are descents, ascents, bridges, overpasses, intersections and roundabouts. We clean and treat these areas first.”

Let us remind you that Krasnoyarsk utility companies have moved for winter maintenance of the road network from October 15. Road workers stated that they would not be caught off guard by weather surprises and In the event of ice or snowfall, they will be able to ensure traffic safety in the city and prevent its paralysis.

Now the total fleet of all road and municipal enterprises that can be involved in snow removal is more than 200 vehicles: KDM, snow loaders, dump trucks (including 4 recently acquired large-capacity ones), bulldozers, equipment for cleaning sidewalks, etc. To eliminate the consequences of heavy rainfall in winter, it is planned to attract equipment from third-party organizations – up to 150 units of dump trucks for removing snow to storage areas.

The mayor's office says that as part of winter cleaning, one of the key tasks is to ensure the safety of drivers and pedestrians: “More than 1,200 kilometers of roads are maintained in Krasnoyarsk, and it is impossible to clear them of snow only with the help of equipment, even after light rainfall for a matter of days. Mechanical cleaning and removal is carried out mainly at night. And during the day, when there is a high traffic flow, in order to prevent the formation of ice and snow accumulation, the streets will be treated with a sand-salt mixture, technical salt and de-icing materials that comply with GOST and environmental safety requirements. They will help keep the roadway in good condition. In addition, the city has installations for cast asphalt, so if necessary, pothole repairs of the road surface will be carried out in the winter.”
