Trump said Truth Social on Tuesday that the ceremony will take place in Rose Garden, because of the “big and enthusiastic” set expected to participate, writes The Hill. The event takes place on the day that Charlie Kirk turned 32.

Kirk, an important voice in the Maga movement, was shot and killed at Utah Valley University while speaking in front of a large audience, in an event called “The American Comeback Tour ”.

Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk, took over the CEO of Turning Point USA, the organization founded and led by Charlie Kirk.

The Presidential Medal of Freedom was established by President John F. Kennedy in 1963 for people who make exceptional contributions to the country's national security or interests, to world peace, or who are responsible for significant cultural achievements or outstanding public and private initiatives.

The event takes place after Trump has returned to the United States in the early hours of the morning, after a lightning visit to Israel and Egypt to celebrate a ceasefire agreement in the Israel War with Hamas in Gaza, an agreement that his administration played an essential role in negotiation, writes Associated Press.

Trump has awarded a series of presidential medals from his first term, including the big golf player Tiger Woods, the former football coach Lou Holtz, the conservative economist Arthur Laffer, the Baseball player from the New York Yankees team, Mariano Rivera, and the conservative Rush Limbaugh Radio, the latter during the year from 2020.

He also granted Babe Ruth and Elvis Presley.
