The USR leader, Dominic Fritz, told Digi24 that this coalition is “unusual”, and the presence of USR and its ministers “is not necessarily convenient for others.” In connection with Sorin Grindeanu, who stated that he would prefer a USR coalition, Fritz said that the interim leader of the PSD is in the internal election campaign and from here the “stings” come.

Asked, on Sunday night, why he believes that Sorin Grindeanu said he would have preferred a USR coalition, Dominic Fritz explained that Grindeanu is in the election campaign.

“Mr. Grindeanu is in an internal campaign, I understood he wants to become the new PSD president, elected to a Congress that we all hope will be soon. It seems that these stings are, as I say, a good internal campaign strategy. There is always an external opponent. The truth is that this coalition is unusual, it is unusual. Dominic Fritz, quoted by News.ro.

Asked if USR ministers feel a brake from PSD, Fritz said that the presence of USR in the government is not a comfortable one.

“Certainly, the presence of the USR, our presence, the activity of our ministers is not necessarily a comfortable presence for the others and it is obvious that the new element in this government is us, they are colleagues from the USR, that until a few months the other three partners worked well. But here it was not so good for the country,” said Fritz.

According to him, “the presence of the USR, even if it is not always the most convenient for the old ones, is a beneficial and important one for the country.”

“I am in the PSD, of course, there are forces that want to change nothing, and our responsibility of those who carry responsibility in this coalition is to marginalize these voices and these forces that want everything to remain as it is,” said Fritz.

In an interview with Antena 3, Sunday night, Sorin Grindeanu stated that he would have preferred a USR coalition, as he thinks that USR would have preferred a PSD coalition, only that without PSD can not be done.
