This is how much you can earn by renting a place through AirBnB

In 2024, 1.8 million guests in Poland used short-term rentals offered via Airbnb, and the total income of owners who made their properties available in this way amounted to over PLN 2.5 billion, according to the platform's report.

As indicated in the report, entire houses or apartments rented via Airbnb for more than 90 nights per year account for 0.05%. all residential premises in Poland. In cities that are particularly attractive to tourists, this indicator is higher. In Kraków it is 0.46 percent, in Warsaw – 0.25 percent and in Gdańsk 0.27 percent.

A survey conducted among Polish hosts shows that for 57 percent of them, rental income provided assistance in maintaining the apartmentin turn 48 percent declared that the money obtained in this way helps cover the rising costs of living.

The study indicates that 73 percent hosts in Poland rent only one premises, and the average landlord earns about PLN 8,300 per year. Most of them are the so-called homesharers – people who occasionally share their home.

In 2024 rental services offered via Airbnb generated over PLN 2.5 billion in revenues in Poland, which, according to the estimates of the report's authors, supported 20,000 jobs.

The report also noted that the offers available on the platform are also located outside typical tourist centers. 36 percent guests in Poland indicated that they would not have visited a given district if it had not been for their accommodation via Airbnb.

The company reports that Airbnb was founded in 2007, when two hosts from San Francisco invited three guests to their home. Currently, the platform has over 4 million hosts who have hosted a total of over 1.4 billion people in almost every country in the world. (PAP)
