Syrsky told how effective Ukrainian air defense is

According to him, over the past month the enemy has increased the number of air attack weapons used by 1.3 times. He stressed that “new challenges await” ahead.

“And although our air defense demonstrates an effectiveness of about 74%, additional efforts must be made to cover rear energy, critical infrastructure, and logistics,” the commander-in-chief said.

Syrsky emphasized that the enemy is paying dearly for continuing the war of aggression against Ukraine, and the Ukrainians are having success in implementing the DeepStrike program.

“Last month, the number of defeats on the territory of the Russian Federation was brought to 70. We are destroying in the aggressor country the production of fuels and lubricants, explosives, and other components of the Russian military-industrial complex. In particular, oil refining in Russia has been reduced by 21%,” he said.

The Commander-in-Chief added that the Armed Forces of Ukraine is intensifying the creation of a new type of troops – unmanned air defense systems as part of the Air Force.

Context

After the start of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the aggressor country Russia regularly shells the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine, intensifying attacks on the energy sector in the autumn-winter periods (in particular, a number of thermal power plants were hit).

On September 15, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky noted the importance 100% fulfillment every agreement with allies on the supply of air defense systems and missiles to Ukraine.

On October 10, Zelensky said that the Ukrainian air defense forces’ repulsion of Russian attacks on October 10 had decreased by 20–30% due to the weather.
