new timetable with a record number of connections

The new timetable is “another step in the development” of PKP Intercity. Malinowski pointed out that the average number of trains will increase by 50 compared to the current timetable, and by approximately 100 compared to last year. He explained that the company focuses on cyclicality, thanks to which trains will run at regular intervals. On the most frequently used routes, such as Warsaw – Tricity or Wrocław – Kraków, trains will depart every hour.
In the new schedule there will be more express connections, including 15 new EIC and EIP category trains. Pendolino will connect the Tricity with Zakopane for the first time, offering a journey in 7 hours from Gdańsk, in 4 hours 19 minutes from Warsaw and in less than 2 hours from Krakow. In the summer, the route will be extended to Kołobrzeg, and a new feature will be the EIP holiday connection from Bielsko-Biała to Ustka.
The timetable for 2025/2026 also provides for new routes, such as EIC Viadrina from Wrocław to Warsaw via Poznań and the seasonal Lajkonik train from Kraków to Hel. The number of express trips from Krakow to Gdynia (from 7 to 9) and from Krakow to Warsaw (from 13 to 14) will increase.
The changes will also apply to smaller towns. Residents of Gorzów Wielkopolski will gain five new fast connections to Poznań, as well as the TLK Krajna route to Tricity. The IC Uznam night train will start from Chełm to Świnoujście with carriages to Berlin. IC Wigry will appear in the Suwałki region, which will shorten the travel time from Suwałki to Warsaw to 3 hours and 34 minutes.
PKP expands its international offer
PKP Intercity also announces the expansion of its international offer. 57 trains traveling outside the country will hit the tracks – 17 more than before. Routes to Germany will be enriched with new connections, including the IC Ursa night train from Przemyśl to Berlin. IC Prater will move towards Austria from Krakow to Vienna, and the IC Danubius route will be extended, enabling Poznań residents to have direct access to Vienna.
A record number of trains will go to the Czech Republic – including: seven times a day from Warsaw and Krakow. On routes to Lithuania, the number of trips will increase from one to three, which will shorten the travel time from Warsaw to Vilnius by one hour. The offer to Ukraine will also increase – the number of connections will increase from 10 to 13 pairs per day.
PKP Intercity, the largest interregional railway operator in Poland, transported 78.5 million passengers last year, an increase of 15%. compared to the previous year. The company plans to increase the number of passengers transported to 84 million this year, and to 110 million by 2030.
