As Mazda 6E is presented after Eurochange 2025, a 4,497 km marathon test.
I remember the first meeting with the second generation Mazda6. Somewhere on the Azure Coast. I rarely jumped over dinner at an event just to leave some miles of pleasure behind me. The times have changed, I could say a lot. In other news, as pleasant as Dynamic Mazda was, there has always been, at least somewhere in me, the desire to meet a Mazda6 with propulsion.
And because electrification, as a rule, is identified with the efficiency and sustainability, Mazda 6e comes and puts next to the mentioned ones.

I like the fact that Mazda did not feel the need to dress the new model in clothes to scream, to make others around to look wonderful and questioning. It's a Mazda, you can say it instinctively, and that's because it is a beautiful car. This is what the Japanese manufacturer has become accustomed to us in recent years, with beautiful cars. On the one hand. Mazda 6e marks is an evolution of sediment design for three generations of Japanese berry.
Car
Mazda 6E – middle -class berine, with a length of 4,921 mm and a wheelbase of 2,895 mm. The battery has a useful capacity of 66 kWh, and the declared autonomy is 479 km. Rear traction, 258 hp and 320 Nm. It is loaded at AC stations with up to 11 kW and DC stations with up to 165 kW. Tested model price – 46,490 euros with VAT included.
In Eurochange 2025 I signed for Mazda 6e, I took the car from the importer, so I had a bonus for a few days to discover it better. Mazda 6E is one of the Joint Venture progress between Mazda and Changan Automobile, each part having 50% of the Alliance. The model was developed at the Changan-Mazda Research and Development Center in Nanjing. And the calibration for the Japanese and European market were obviously realized at the centers of Hirosima and Oberursel (Germany).

Two versions are available in Europe. The one present in EuroCharge and a Long Range version that is equipped with a battery whose total capacity is 80 kWh, promises an autonomy of 552 km, but at DC stations can be charged with a maximum of 90 kW.
Kodo – Soul of Motion, already the classic Mazda visual communication way when it comes to exterior design, braids its classic lines with the new aesthetic current introduced by Japanese – modern authentic.
Mazda 6e proposes a new light signature in the front. You will recognize a stylized wing that is illuminated. Detail that offers both personality in walking but also indicates that the car is charged when it is fed.
A little antithesis between body geometry and details inspired by the Mazda past, see the rear lamps composed of two cylinders each. And yes, on the tailgate is an active element that brings a little press on the rear axle.

Mazda 6e welcomes you every time with a sequence inspired by the traditional Japanese hospitality – homotenashi. The reception sequence is activated when the car detects the key, at which point the side mirrors are brought to the driving position, the door handles are activated, the doors are unlocked, a light -back/rear sequence is activated and the rear anon is moved discreetly.
At the opening of the door, the driver's seat moves 10 cm to the back to allow easy access to the steering wheel, and once he climbed, he returns to the initial position. When lowering from the car the sequence is rolled in reverse.
The interior is spectacular, being unanimously declared the most elegant in EuroChage. Such a visual and tactile coherent story. I don't think anyone will complain of space when the wheelbase is 2,890 mm. And if we still have time to notice details, we also say that the interior is very well isolated, and the Sony's calibrated audio system sends you on the rear seat.
How to drive
Like a Mazda, and that's a good thing. The suspension is at the limit of being accused of “fluffy”. It ensures good comfort, and fixed when you think it will fall into the sin of letting the volumes float, intervenes and stops their movement. To have under 2 tons as an electric car, especially in this class, is already a performance. Mazda 6e boasts 1,962 kg. The good mass distribution contributes to an extra agility, given that the front axle is much more relaxed now, no longer responds to sending power to the ground. A pleasant car behind the steering wheel on turns. A pleasant balancing of power for this model and a delivery of power that is not tiring. In addition, the accelerator pedal allows you an extremely easy dosage on the long road, which can maintain a constant speed without any special effort.
Handled Mazda 6e on the first day, one in which I went 722 km, a route that included Transfagărășan. Three loads that could have been light two, but with an electric, if you stop, not because you need the car, but you do not hurt to charge it. Finished the day with an average consumption of 19.6 kWh/100 km and a real autonomy of 336.7 km.
