In Sharypovo, two employees of a chain of mobile phone and accessories stores were suspected of embezzlement of property worth over 1.6 million rubles. This was reported to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
It all started when a representative of the chain discovered that at one of the outlets the cash register was missing 115 thousand rubles. Then the store took inventory of the goods and noticed more than 1.5 million worth of equipment missing. The man reported the incident to the police.
Law enforcement officers found out that one of the employees of the retail outlet may be involved in the embezzlement of property. A 20-year-old guy told law enforcement officers that his partner offered to hand over the phones from the display case to a pawnshop, since he urgently needed money, and then buy them back from his salary.
“After repeating the scheme several times, the young people decided not to take the phones back, but simply divide the money among themselves. The sellers also replaced three smartphones with dummies that they purchased on the marketplace,” the police said.
The young people took money from the cash register to try to win money by betting online, and planned to pay for the damage. Unfortunately for the guys, they were unable to turn a profit – all their finances were lost. According to one of the suspects, his partner quit and left. His location is currently being established.
Based on this fact, a criminal case was opened under Part 4 of Art. 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Misappropriation or embezzlement.” The sanction of this article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to 10 years.
