I no longer suffer from dampness in the cellar – I put the bucket in the corner: all winter it’s dry, like in the desert – no mold or rot

There is nothing worse than a cellar that is always damp and impossible to store anything. Food and supplies for the winter become moldy and spoil, vegetables rot, and cuttings of plants for spring planting wither. The author of the Zen channel “Master-OK” (16+) shared with readers unusual ways that will allow you to get rid of condensation forever.

Salt. Our ancestors dealt with the problem with the help of salt, but it should be dry and free-flowing. They did this: a bag of 5-6 kg of salt was brought into the cellar and placed open on a basin, placed on its cross so that it would not fall through. The salt will instantly absorb moisture from the air, drying it out, and the water will flow from the bag into a bucket or basin.

Water must be poured out frequently so that it does not humidify the air. This method is suitable for small cellars. Salt is not subject to mold, it can be used constantly, taking the bag outside in the summer to dry.

Lime. Only quicklime is used – this is the essence of the method. Place a bucket or a couple of bags of quicklime in the cellar, and that’s it. There is no need to do anything else. Lime can be poured into a wooden or plastic open box.

Quicklime perfectly absorbs moisture from the air and after a few months turns into slaked lime – you can whitewash trees, deoxidize the ground, or use it in construction.

Clay bricks. The old way. Take 5-7 bricks and heat them over a fire. Then carefully transfer the red-hot bricks into the cellar in a bucket and distribute them in the corners and just on the floor. As the bricks cool, they will absorb moisture. This method is used if you need to quickly dry the cellar.
