A resident of the Krasnoyarsk Territory sued the recreation center for double the amount of the deposit for a failed vacation, Rospotrebnadzor said.
In July 2025, a resident of Minusinsk decided to relax on Lake Bele. She chose a recreation center and booked a room for herself on its official website, making an advance payment of 13 thousand rubles. But soon the woman realized that the rest would not happen – she needed treatment.
“By the phone number indicated on the booking sheet, the woman informed the service provider about the cancellation of the reservation. On the same day I received a response by email that the reservation had been cancelled. In addition, the consumer was sent a sample application for a refund via messenger, which was filled out and sent on the same day. After 10 days, the woman inquired about the decision, but was asked to send the application again to the legal entity’s email address, which was done by the consumer on the same day,” Rospotrebnadzor said.
Realizing that they were not planning to return the money to her voluntarily, the woman contacted the supervisory authority. They helped her prepare a claim, which the court granted.
It was decided to collect more than 2 times the amount of the deposit from the recreation center. Businessmen will have to return the advance in the amount of 13 thousand rubles, pay 818 rubles as interest for using other people's money, 9,409 rubles in a fine and another 5 thousand rubles in compensation for moral damage – a total of 28,227 rubles. The court's decision has not yet entered into legal force.
