“The Barbara cyclone has also reached the capital, but fortunately not with the foreseen force,” the Pro TV News presenter, Andreea Esca, announced on Wednesday, in telling information about the weather phenomena in Bucharest published in the context of the Red and Orange Codes. The news was presented in a neutral tone, after previously, in the morning, the well -known presenter had an upset exit to meteorologists.
The journal from 19.00 broadcast by Pro TV started with the presentation of events in Constanța and Ialomița counties, the most affected counties by the effects of the time: floods, floods, strong wind, fallen trees, broken electric cables.
“The Barbara cyclone did not hit Romania with the forecast force, but caused problems in several localities in the south of the country. In Constanța, a national and county road were closed due to floods, the waters entered several households, and 6 people were evacuated for their safety. Three people in the car. Hours had interventions related to heavy rains in 73 localities from 22 counties and Bucharest.
And then the next news was focused on the situation in Bucharest.
“The Barbara cyclone has also reached the capital, but fortunately not with the expected force. The amount of water that fell in the last two days without stopping has reached 70 liters per square meter. According to the experts. Apa Nova announced that the sewerage system was transited by a flow comparable to the Prut, so they did. Major that cannot be resolved, “said Andreea Esca, before entering the video with reports from the scene and the interventions of the authorities.
“According to Apa Nova, in just 20 hours, in the Capital there fell over 96% of the average amount of rainfall for October. Under these conditions, the sewerage system gave up. There were hundreds of requests from citizens and authorities who announced that the water has been on the streets, basements and parking lots (…). In only 6 days: over 110 liters of water per square meter. The video material included information from meteorologists, hydrologists and authorities, and then reporters came with the latest information from the afternoon and evening of Wednesday.
In the morning, in a Facebook post, the TV presenter had stated that the weather institutes should not give “alerts as for a country where the water came from heaven”, in a message criticizing the issuance of the Red Code for 18 hours in Bucharest.
“Busu (Florin Busuioc, no) makes me cool that I always dress inappropriate for the weather outside, because I do not listen to what they say, there at the weather. Well, you know why? I think these measurement institutes have taken it crazy! Or they are connected to other countries! Now?
Andreea Esca, upset on meteorologists: “I look for excuses from all the worlds of the world! The job of institutions is to know that in Romania this is ploicic”
She stressed that she is waiting for excuses from the institutes who gave these alerts to be able to transmit them to the people who have been in houses because of the Red Code.
“And the job of the institutions is to know, that in Romania, this is a ploicic !!!! not to give data and alerts as for a country where the water came from heaven. (…) Of course, I hope not to meet the apocalyptic scenarios, and I expect excuses, from all the worlds! said Esca, at the end of his message.
Most of the country is under heavy rain warnings, whispers and snowy snowfall, at least until Wednesday night. Bucharest and five other counties were under the red code of extreme weather phenomena until 3 pm. Meteorologists decided to extend the code by three more hours for certain areas of Constanța county, where the biggest problems were recorded due to torrential rains.
