Prime Minister about suspected blowjob Nord Stream: Publishing it is not in the interest of Poland

In the case of Wołodymyr Ż. It all depends on the Polish justice system; We do not interfere in this matter – said Wasyl Bodnar in Poland on Tuesday. He emphasized that the Ukrainian embassy provides full support to the suspect to destroy the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

The Ukrainian ambassador was asked on Tuesday at RMF FM, or the case of Volodymyr Ż. will affect Polish-Ukrainian relations. “It all depends on the rule of law,” he said.

– Of course, it is in our interest to defend the interests of our citizen and we, as an embassy and consulate, provide him with all support – he said. He added that the Ukrainian consuls remain in contact with the arrested citizen of Ukraine and advise him how to “settle the matter in the right way, in accordance with the legislation.”

Asked whether the Ukrainian side intervened in the case of the suspect in the destruction of the Nord Stream 2 Ukrainian pipeline, he replied: “We do not interfere, because it is simply a court case.” – It all depends on the justice system. Of course, the court is a court and must make an appropriate decision (…). The Ukrainian side here behaves decently, according to Polish law – he noted.

Volodymyr Ż. He is wanted by a European arrest warrant issued by the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe in connection with the suspicion of constitutional sabotage, destruction of property and the destruction of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. He was detained on September 30 at his place of residence – in Pruszków near Warsaw.

On October 3, the man was questioned as a witness in the Polish investigation regarding damage to pipelines and gas leaks at the bottom of the Baltic Sea.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized on Tuesday that in the interest of Poland it is not accusing or issuing a suspected of blowing up Nord Stream Volodymyr Ż. in the hands of another country. He added that the only ones who should be ashamed of Nord Stream 2 are those who decided to build it.

The court will decide on its possible issue. Earlier he must read the documentation. He has 100 days to do it. The prosecutor's office informed on Friday that the materials about the prosecuted man of the man have already been sent by e -mail by the German side. In turn, a spokeswoman for the District Court in Warsaw, judge Anna Ptaszek, said on Monday that the referent judge will soon set a date for the trial in this matter.

Bodnar was also asked when the meeting of President Karol Nawrocki with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelnski would come. He reported that in this case the Ukrainian side remains in contact with the head of the Presidential International Policy Office Marcin by Marcin and awaiting “appropriate decisions of the Polish side”. He expressed the hope that the meeting would take place in the coming weeks.

As he said, Ukraine at this moment did not officially refer to the changes proposed by President Nawrocki, assuming, among others Introducing a penalty for promoting flags and OUN-UPA activities on the same principles as for propagating Nazism, communism or fascism.

– On the other hand, there was a statement of historians, which says that the adoption of such a law now is simply to twist the historical truth and imposing various topics that now have a different meaning – he said. He added that-in his opinion-the condemnation of Banderism and the penalization of its propagation would threaten Polish-Ukrainian relations.

Bodnar pointed out that although Ukrainian nationalists are responsible for crimes committed on Poles during World War II, Polish troops also committed crimes in Ukrainians. – The rule is that the crime must be condemned and I condemn (crimes) that were committed by Ukrainians against Poles. But I would like Poland to condemn those crimes that were committed either by the Home Army units, or by peasant battalions or through the units of the people's army against Ukrainians – he emphasized.

The journalist's attention that many Poles do not understand why Stepan Bandera – the leader of Ukrainian nationalists during World War II – “is so cuddled in Ukraine,” he replied: “You have created such an image of a hated object.” He added that at the time when the Volhynia slaughter lasted, Bandera was in a concentration camp in Germany; He also explained that Bandera became a symbol of the fight against the Russians for many Ukrainians.

The amendment proposed by President Nawrocki in the Act on the Institute of National Remembrance and the Penal Code consists in “clarifying the provisions determining the concept of crimes committed by members and colleagues of the organization of the Ukrainian nationalists of the Bandera Fraction and the Ukrainian insurgent army and other Ukrainian formations collaborating with the Third German Reich”, in order to counteract the dissemination of false statements in this area.

On October 1, on the website of the Institute of National Remembrance of Ukraine and on the profile of the Embassy of Ukraine in Poland on Facebook, an open letter of a group of Ukrainian historians in this matter was published. “In Ukraine, the initiative of some political forces was anxious about the introduction of changes to the applicable legal acts of Poland, aimed at the statutory condemnation of UPA and OUN (b). At the same time, the initiators of these changes unilaterally blame Ukrainians for all events related to the Volhynia tragedy,” says the statement.

“The adoption of the said project by the Polish side will certainly cause a negative response in Ukraine. According to the current practice, the Ukrainian side will also be forced to take action in response and accept at the statutory level appropriate acts regarding the assessment of the actions of some branches of the Home Army and Peasant Battalions, which, as we know, committed crimes against the Ukrainian civilian population during the Second World War and the first post -war years,” Historians.
