President Trump met with the former Hamas hostage

“On the second anniversary of the events on October 7, President Trump met with Edan Alexander and his family and the family of Omerer Neutra, whose body is still in the Gaza Zone,” said the spokeswoman for the White House Karoline Leavitt.

On Tuesday, two years have passed since the terrorist attack to southern Israel, in which Hamas killed over 1,200 people, including 46 Americans. Hamas also took over 250 hostages, including 12 Americans. To date, 48 hostages remain in captivity, of which – according to the Israeli army – at least 20 is still alive.

Edan Alexander was the last living American hostage detained in the Gaza Strip. The man who has US and Israel's citizenship returned home in New Jersey on June 20. In July, President Trump received him in an oval office.

Alexander moved to Israel at the age of 18 and there he enlisted as a volunteer to defense forces. He was kidnapped on October 7, 2023 from the station at the Gaza Strip. He spent 584 days in captivity.
