In Krasnoyarsk, the turn from the Kopylovsky Bridge to Bogotolsky Lane will be completely closed until the end of the year, the mayor’s office reported.

Concrete blocks and the necessary traffic signs at the exit from the street will be installed tomorrow at 10:00. The reason for the overlap is archaeological work.

The mayor's office reminded that the section of the road is within the boundaries of the Afontova Gora archaeological heritage monument. To survey the site, the capital construction department, based on the results of the bidding, entered into a municipal contract with Elar LLC. The contractor began work in the summer. First of all, he explored the area near the house at the address: st. Menzhinsky, 8. Now I’ve moved on to the area near house No. 6.

“Currently we have found a large abundance of scrapers. They are 10-15 thousand years old. Let's just say these are the first knives of people living in Paleolithic times. They ground stones in a special way and used them to cut up animal carcasses or create weapons. For example, we discovered a bone knife made from a deer rib. We also find the remains of animals – bison and deer, there was also a mammoth tusk, but in very poor condition,” said Zoya Gaidakova, an archaeologist.

The work on the site will last until the end of November. After this, the search for a contractor will begin for the reconstruction of Bogotolsky Lane. The updated road will connect the street. Kopylova from st. Novosibirskaya, its length will be 676 meters. The roadway will increase to three or four lanes. Sidewalks will be installed on the site, stops will be installed, traffic lights will be installed and landscaping will be carried out.
