The equipment used by the Environmental Guard facilitates the work in the field, and the images will be used in court, against those who pollute.

In Bihor County, such a drone was erected on the outskirts of Ineu, in Bihor, where the landscape is bleak. The garbage stretches over ten hectares of land, in an area that belongs to the town hall.

The mayor says the locals throw waste there.

“We are trying to constrain them, without reaching the threshold”says, for the quoted source, Dumitru Togor, the mayor of Ineu.

However, the local administration risks a fine of up to 60,000 lei.

“We make our work very much easier”

For the commissioners of the environmental guards in the country, 16 drones were purchased in total.

By using them, they can check large areas in a much shorter time.

“We take all these areas to step, there are hard -to -reach areas, with the drone greatly facilitates our work”, Explains Cristi Pătcaş, Commissioner of Bihor Environmental Guard.

“We can map I do not know, careers, exploitations we see exploited, not exploited”

Alin Sălăjan, Commissioner of Biho Environmental Guard, explains the advantages of using these devices:

“In addition to identifying new areas of waste, we can map do not know, careers, exploitations we see has been exploited, it has not been exploited.”

The Ministry of the Environment states that the images can be filmed without the consent of the targeted and automatically become evidence.

“We can draw up the control act, we can apply the sanction, without, physically, the Commissioner is there”says Andrei Corlan, General Commissioner National Environmental Guard:

This is possible because the digital platform to which the drone is connected is interconnected with the trade register, the cadastral office, the population record and the registration direction.

At the field controls, the commissioners will also use over 700 bodycams, almost 300 cameras, as well as several truck scanning systems. The investment cost 14 million euros, money from PNRR.
