A portrait of President Donald Trump could appear on a 1-dollar commemorative currency issued by the US currency in honor of America's 250th anniversary in 2026, according to the first sketches of the US Treasury, CNN reports.
“There are no false news here,” the head of the US Treasury, Brandon Beach, gave insurance. “These first sketches that honor the 250th anniversary of America and @Potus are real. We look forward to sharing you more soon, once the United States Government's blockage will end,” writes News.ro.
The preliminary images show Trump's side profile on the front of the currency, with the inscription “Liberty” at the top, “in God we trust” at the bottom and data 1776 and 2026.
On the reverse is the famous image of Trump, raising the fist after the assassination attempt in Bulter, Pennsylvania, with the words “Fight Fight Fight” at the top and an American flag waving behind his head.

It is not clear whether the controversial design of the currency will be put into circulation: the American law prohibits the image of a president in office or a former president in life. A president can appear on a coin no earlier than two years after his death.
In the anticipation of the 250th anniversary of America, the Congress has adopted the Law on the redesign of collectable coins in circulation, which allows the US treasury to issue special 1 dollar coins to celebrate the event.
The law stipulates that the secretary of the treasury may “issue, during the one year from January 1, 2026, 1 dollar currencies with emblematic designs for the semi -community of the United States.”
This law also stipulates that “no portrait or bust of a person, alive or deceased, and no portrait of a person in life can be included in the drawing on the reverse of the specified coins.”
Trump's side portrait is presented on the face of the currency, not on the reverse, which seems to bypass the law. The reverse further presents Trump, but it is not clear whether the image was a violation of the law.
The reverse further presents Trump, but Butler's image does not fall into the direct definition “head portrait and shoulders or bust.”
“No portrait or bust of the head and shoulders of a person, alive or deceased, and no portrait of a living person can be included in the design of the reverse of the specified currencies,” mentioned in the text.
Although the treasury confirms that Trump's sketches on both sides are legitimate, a spokesman stressed that a final design has not yet been chosen.
“Although the final design of the 1 dollar currency has not yet been selected to commemorate the 250 years since the United States founded, this first sketch reflects the sustainable spirit of our country and democracy, even in the face of huge obstacles,” said a spokesman for the Treasury for CNN, adding that “to share more information.”
The only life president who appeared on a coin was Calvin Coolidge in 1926, as the website of the American Numismatics Association shows.
