Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski has launched a new call to the international community, requesting the total closure of the Ukraine's airspace, in the context of intensifying the air attacks launched by the Russian Federation, according to Antena3.
In a message distributed on the X platform he made a balance sheet after the massive bombings on several regions of the country during Saturday night.
According to the Kiev leader, Russia has triggered a combined attack on Saturday night to Sunday, using a wide range of weapons, from drones to cruise missiles.
“Last night, Ukraine was again the target of a combined attack on Russia – over 50 missiles and about 500 attack drones. The Russians hit with cruise missiles, 'Shaheds' and Kinzhals, among others,” Volodimir Zelenski said.
The regions targeted by bombardments include LVIV, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zaporojie, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Odessa and Kirovohrad. The preliminary balance indicates at least five deceased people and about ten injured as a result of these attacks.

“I am constantly receiving reports from the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymeko, and from the Minister of Communities and Territorial Development, Oleksii Kuleba, from the heads of regional military administrations and from the general director of Naftogaz, Koretskyi sergeons. affected ”, he wrote.
In his message, Zelenski drew attention to the fact that civil infrastructure remains one of the favorite targets of the Russian army, a systematic attack meant to destabilize the daily life of the Ukrainian population.
“Today, the Russians have targeted our infrastructure again – everything that ensures a normal life for our people,” Volodimir Zelenski accuses.
Against this tense background, the Kiev leader insisted on the need for a firmer and faster international response. He asked for the full and accelerated implementation of the defense agreements, with an emphasis on anti -aircraft defense systems, in order to reduce the risk of air attacks.
“We need more protection and a faster implementation of all defense agreements, especially in terms of air defense, in order to deprive this air terrorism of any direction,” he said, completing: “A unilateral armistice in the airspace is possible and it could precisely open the way to a real diplomacy.”
In conclusion, the Ukrainian president sent a clear message to the Western partners, asking for a determined reaction to stop Vladimir Putin: “America and Europe must act to stop it.”
The closure of the air space requested by Zelenski would involve the complete suspension of civil traffic, including the closing of all functional airports in Ukraine, a measure that would reflect a generalized emergency and a defense strategy focused exclusively on the protection of the territory in front of the Russian attacks.
