The United States will remain in a state of budget paralysis at least until next week, following the Friday's failure of a new vote in the Senate, which remains as divided as always between Republicans and Democrats, reports AFP and Agerpres.

After three days of “shutdown”, in which hundreds of thousands of federal employees were sent in technical unemployment, the proposal of republican budget has not yet been able to obtain the votes of the democrats needed to leave the deadlock.

Hundreds of thousands of officials, with attributions considered “non -essential”, were forced to get into technical unemployment and disturbances are expected in the provision of public services.

The Association of Air Traffic Controllers (NATCA) said in a statement that it is afraid of the safety of the air space, while over 2,300 its members are in technical unemployment.

Such situations of “shutdown” have existed in the US, but have not happened in the last seven years, and Republicans and Democrats launch each other.

In the meantime, Trump has announced the cancellation of $ 26 billion from the federal funds promised by the states led by Democratic politicians.

For example, in the state of New York, a bastion of the Democrats, $ 18 billion funds allocated for two projects to modernize public transport were frozen.

The Trump administration also froze $ 2.1 billion from Chicago public transport funds, thus depriving another democratic financing city, according to Reuters and News.ro.

The governor of the state of Illinois, JB Pritzker, a brand critic of Trump, considered a possible democratic candidate in the presidency in 2028, said that freezing the funds is equivalent to taking hostages. “It is an attempt to win political points, but instead, it affects our economy and working people who depend on public transport,” he said on social networks.

The White House said that it also identifies funds that could be withheld in the city of Portland, from Oregon, also a left -wing city that was the scene of major protests during Trump's first term.

Trump has also threatened that he will dismiss several federal employees, in addition to the 300,000 to give up this year, and dozens of agencies presented plans to reduce the staff, according to a source in the White House that spoke under the condition of anonymity.

If the “Shutdownu” will extend after Monday, the fourth most ugly paralysis in US history will become. The longest closing lasted 35 days in 2018-2019, during Trump's first term.
