Shutdown in the United States. Donald Trump in the epicenter of the budget crisis.

The Russell Voughta Memorandum begins technically, but Already in the third sentence, the head of the budget Trump throws a bomb. Unfortunately, the Democrats blocked voting on the budget, writes Vought because they insist on “insane demands of new expenses in the amount of billion dollars (about 3 trillion PLN 630 billion)”. In the letter, he requires that all federal officials appear at their workplaces, but as a result of the lack of a budget, Shutdown begins and it is not known how long it will last.
The United States suspend administration's activities for the first time since 2018. As then, today the president is Donald Trump. And as then, so now a fierce dispute broke out about who is to blame.
At the beginning of the week, the foretaste of the conflict provided the remote competition of the governor of California Gavin Newsom with JD Vance. The republican vice president stated in front of the cameras that democrats block voting on the budget because demand full health care for millions of illegal immigrants.
California Governor and Trump's opponent, Newsom, commented on the following post on X: “This is obvious not true, you complete idiot.” If the budget is not adopted, it will be only the fault of the Republicans who have the majority in the Senate and the Congress. Context: A few days earlier, Vance called members of the Democratic Party to complete idiots.
News and Vance can face the fight for the White House in 2028. Both are considered promising candidates of their parties. Until then, however, a lot can change. President Donald Trump still holds his position firmly and like his deputy Vance does not show a tendency to compromise in a budget dispute. The president laughed at his interlocutors from the Democratic Party, publishing on his Truth Social Video platform modified by artificial intelligence, and the negotiations stuck at a deadline.
Healthcare conflict
This is a simple dispute between the two sides, and the arguments are based on feelings rather than on facts. While the White House in its official Bulletin disseminated the interpretation of the Breitbart portal, according to which Democrats force Republicans to Shutdow by blackmail methods, the opposite side is trying to take control of the narrative.
In fact, the situation is more complex. Vance and the company are right about one thing: Republicans, despite the majority in the Senate, needed the votes of Democrats to push through the budget. At the same time, the claim that democrats paralyze the government in order to finance free health care for illegal immigrants, turns out to be wrong.
It is true that the Democrats' plans under the leadership of the opposition leader Chuck Schumer would be extremely expensive. First of all, because subsidies from the Affordable Care Act [obejmującej ulgi podatkowe na ubezpieczenia zdrowotne]which expire at the end of the year, were to be extended. In addition, the party wants to undo cuts in Medicaid – a health insurance program for people in need – introduced by Trump in June.
However, this would not be associated with fundamentally free health care for all illegal immigrants. People coming to the country without documents often have limited access to the health programs financed by the state. Democrats reverse arguments: according to senator Patty Murray, if Republicans achieve their goal next year Millions of Americans can experience double health insurance contributions. In addition, this threatens to close clinics throughout the country.

In addition to disputes, the budget conflict concerns one more issue. Democrats want to oppose the reconstruction of the state apparatus by President Trump, as Politico reports. In their opinion, he implements the so -called Project 2025, a radical right-wing and conservative Heritage Foundation plan.
– The president is currently “completely beyond control.” We must keep an eye on him. No one should have such power
– said the Democratic Congressmenka Marcy Hood.
By reducing federal administration, deregulation and extension of the presidential rights “Project 2025” is to pave the path to autocracy. For many democrats, the budget dispute is therefore part of a greater political struggle.

Compromise solutions no longer work
An interesting detail during voting late in the evening: Senators John Fetterman from Pennsylvania and Catherine Cortez Masto from Nevada were the only democrats who broke with their party and voted for Trump's plans. In turn, Rand Paul of Kentucky was the only Republican who spoke against his party. One thing, however, is certain: Escalation shows that compromise solutions, even those achieved as a result of difficult negotiations, do not work.
Now there are subsequent steps and new negotiations. In recent decades, Shutdowny lasted an average of several days or weeks, rarely longer than a month. The longest budget lock took place between the end of December 2018 and the end of January 2019 – it lasted 35 days and was caused by a dispute about financing the wall on the border with Mexico.
Now Shutdown's effects are unpredictable. From Wednesday morning, most officials will not get a salary. Government agencies, if they do not perform safety tasks, suspend their work. Trump can even pay off to Trump. He had already threatened that hundreds of thousands of officials on forced vacation would not return to work – because their positions are unnecessary. The Management and Budget Office (OMB) recommended federal agencies to consider permanent exemptions.
It's obvious: US finances have been out of control for a long time – Both during the term of Trump and his predecessor Joe Biden. The country's creditworthiness rating has recently been reduced – the Moody's Rating Agency degraded one degree of rating with [z najwyższej możliwej oceny kredytowej] Aaa to AA1.
The reason for this decision was the last record increase in public debt, which is currently $ 36 trillion. (approx. PLN 131 trillion). A rapid increase also results from the fact that the Trump project “Big Beautiful Bill” (“Great Beautiful Act”) led to an additional debt of approx. $ 3 trill $ 400 billion. (over PLN 12 trillion). According to estimates of analysts, Bank of America Shutdown would cause a decrease in economic growth rate by 0.1 percent. weekly. In addition, people affected by this problem temporarily have less money for consumer expenses. If there is a permanent loss of jobs, the labor market situation will deteriorate even more.
If the dollar, as a world reference currency, began to lose, it could cause a wave of side effects on international markets – In the worst scenario, even a new financial crisis. Problems such as limited public services, lack of garbage collection or closed offices can be one of the smaller nuisances that will meet Americans in the near future.
