Applesauce isn't just for breakfast. It can be turned into a delicate, sweet and sour marmalade without sugar and gelatin. Even a child who does not like fruit will eat it with pleasure. Prepared in just 25 minutes from what is in every home.
You will need:
Apples – 600 g
Water – 100 ml
Lemon juice – 1 tbsp. spoon
Agar-agar – 1 teaspoon
How to cook:
- Wash the apples, remove the core, cut into slices.
- Place in a saucepan, add water and simmer covered for 15 minutes until soft.
- Grind the mixture with a blender to a smooth puree.
- Add lemon juice and stir.
- Dilute agar-agar in a small amount of water, pour into the apple mixture and cook over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Pour into a flat pan and cool at room temperature.
- After 2 hours, cut into cubes and store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
The result is a delicate, slightly sour jelly with a real apple taste and no sugar. Great as a snack, as a topping for yogurt, or as a dessert instead of candy.
Bon appetit!
Question and answer:

Agar-agar can be replaced with apple pectin or prepared without a thickener. The result will be a thick puree, not a jelly.
