I am feeding until October 15 – Mandatory: I scattered under a pear – next year the crop is enough for the entire district

The pear needs restoration after fruiting and preparing for the winter period. Correct autumn top dressing is the key to successful wintering and abundant crop of sweet and juicy fruits next season. The author of the Zen channel “Dacha is a little life” (16+) told about this in more detail.

The most suitable time for autumn feeding of a pear is the first half of October, before the onset of stable cold weather. The condition of the tree is the main factor that determines the timing of top dressing.

It is important to have time to make fertilizers after harvesting, at the beginning or immediately after the foliage fall. This will allow the tree to learn the nutrients as effectively as possible and benefit from them. The roots of the pears continue to actively function until the soil temperature drops below +8 … +10.

The introduction of fertilizers during this period contributes to the maximum assimilation of phosphorus and potassium, which strengthen the root system and increase the concentration of cell juice acting as “non -freezing”. The later top dressing will be ineffective, since the roots will already go into a state of rest.

How to feed a pear in the fall: the best fertilizers

  • Compost or humus: are carried under a digging, 5-10 kg per 1 sq.m of a trunk circle.
  • Wood ash: a valuable source of potassium in an easily accessible form. Norma: 150-200 g per 1 sq.m.
  • Phosphoric fertilizers: superphosphate at the rate of 40-50 g per 1 sq.m or double superphosphate 20-30 g per 1 sq.m.
  • Potassium fertilizers: potassium sulfate, norm of 20-30 g per 1 sq.m. Calimagnesia can be used at the rate of 20-30 g per 1 sq.m.
  • Specialized formulations: “Ferika Autumn”, “OU for fruit trees” (violent fertilizers), “AGRECOL AND FELLEN FARE for fruit trees and shrubs.”
  • As liquid top dressing, use a solution prepared from 10 liters of water, 2 tbsp. l. superphosphate and 1 tbsp. l. potassium sulfate. Watering norm: 10-15 liters per tree.

How to make fertilizer correctly

  • Take away the plant residues from the trunk circle.
  • Fill well at the rate of 40-50 liters for an adult tree.
  • Dry fertilizers in dry form evenly distribute the crowns and lay into the soil shallow digging or loosening.
