Donald Tusk with Russian provocation near the port of Szczecin. “I received information”

– Elections in Moldova were a spectacular example that the elections are part of a very unusual war in which we are. Two years ago I said that the post -war era ended and we entered the pre -war period. Unfortunately, this is not the case anymore, because we live in war – said the prime minister, referring to recent parliamentary elections in Moldova, where pro -European forces won.

– For me it is obvious that we must abandon all illusions. The first illusion was that there was no war. Some talk about incidents, aggression, but not: this is war, this is a new, complicated type of war – said Donald Tusk.

Donald Tusk about Russia's actions: This is our war

– In our region we are dealing with various incidents almost every day. Of course, the drone attack was the most spectacular, but similar provocations take place every day on our border with Belarus. For us, war is not an abstraction, because on our border with Belarus there is more than one hundred attempts to cross the border a day. This is a continuous effect of using migration as a weapon. So it's a kind of war – said Tusk.

– We are also the target of Russian aggression, not only when it comes to hybrid tools, but also political intentions. And it's clear. I think that the whole West knows that it is threatened and Russia's aggression on Ukraine is only the first phase of this approach – added the prime minister.

– In some European capitals there is such a belief that even if there is war, it is not our war. And this is our war. We are all potential attack goals Tusk said.

Another illusion is that we are not winning this war, that Ukraine is not able to win this war. It's absurd. The only advantage on the side of the Russians is mentality. And yet we are much bigger than them. You know that Poland's GDP will be comparable to Russia's GDP within two years? Our European population is almost 500 million people against 150 million. We are much richer, much better technologically prepared. The only advantage of Russia is that they are ready to fight, they are ready to sacrifice something and suffer – said Donald Tusk.
