A 77-year-old driver involved in a fatal accident in which his wife died. It was the second fatal accident in Olt, in a few hours
Two serious road accidents, in which two people died, occurred on July 29, 2025, in Olt County. In the first, in which a pedestrian lost his life, a 76-year-old driver was involved, in the second, a 77-year-old driver.

The first road accident took place in the locality of the eyebrow, on Florilor Street, shortly before noon. A pedestrian who tried to cross irregularly was surprised by a car, being deadly injured. On the spot, the police officers from the Drăgănești-Olt city police traveled.
“From the first checks, the police have established that a car driven by a 76 -year -old man, from Beciu, Teleorman county, due to causes to be established during the research, would have feded a pedestrian, respectively a 60 -year -old man, from the commune, Olt county. Unfortunately, following the road event, the pedestrian died ”, the police officers from the Olt County Police Inspectorate were transmitted. The driver was tested with the ethyl tester, and the result was negative.
Car overturned, a woman remained incarcerated
The second accident took place around 4:30 pm, on the county road 679, between Mihăești and Seaca communes. A car driven by a 77 -year -old man entered the counter, hit a bridgehead and overturned.

The first aid crews coming to the scene – crews from ISU Teleorman and two ambulances from the Olt ambulance help – found a car overturned, with two victims, a conscious and cooperative man, with different trauma and a woman in cardiorespiratory stop;
“With the help of unloading accessories, the blocked victim was quickly extracted and taught to medical crews that immediately started resuscitation maneuvers. Unfortunately, they did not have a positive result, the medical staff having to declare the death. The injured man received the first qualified aid and was transported to the County Hospital in Slatina ”said ISU Teleorman representatives.
The Roșioreni military firefighters continued the mission to ensure PSI measures, until the arrival of colleagues from ISU Olt, who came with an extinguishing vehicle and a SMURD ambulance, the case being taken over by the competent authorities for research.

“From the first checks, the police have established that a car driven by a 77 -year -old man from Seaca commune, for causes to be established during the research, would have collided with a bridgehead on the side of the road. Following the road event, the driver required medical care, being transported to a hospital unit, and a 75 -year -old woman, a car passenger, died ”, the Oltenian police said. The woman who died was the driver's wife. The man of the steering wheel also suffered injured, being transported to the Slatina County Emergency Hospital for medical care. The police tested him at the accident site, stating that the driver had not consumed alcoholic beverages.
“The police are conducting investigations for the exact establishment of all the circumstances in which the event was produced ”, a more communicated IPJ Olt.
