During the first three hours of speech, the former Minister of Justice admitted, among others, that he was the initiator of the purchase of this controversial system, he argued that he acted in accordance with the law. In the context of using Pegasus, he talked about examples of matters of Roman Giertych and Sławomir Nowak. We wrote more about it here.
In the next three hours, Zbigniew Ziobro said that he talked to Minister Kamiński about the lack of a system for Polish services in previous years. “I decided that the Polish state could not afford such a system. When asked about the details, he said that he was not interested in any detailed functionality of Pegasus, but only directionally buying such a system. “Nobody ever showed me Pegasus and I wasn't interested” – noted the former Minister of Justice.

The subject of legality has returned many times. A member of the commission Patryk Jaskulski asked if anyone informed Zbigniew Ziobro that the purchase of Pegasus could be disagreement with the law. He explained that Nobody informed him about the possible incompatibility of the purchase with the law, because the purchase was in accordance with the regulations.

The former minister was asked about surveillance of Jacek Karnowski, Beata Morawiec and Ewa Wrzosek. “I didn't know Mr. Karnowski's case, I can't refer to her. (…) The illegal takeover of the prosecutor's office by Donald Tusk leads to the fact that people with allegations like Sławomir Nowak or Roman Giertych are discontinued. (…) As for the judge Morawiec, I just know this matter. It appeared in connection with large -scale corruption in the Krakow Court of Appeal” – said Zbigniew Ziobro.
He added that one of the witnesses, an accountant of the court, made extensive testimonies that Mrs. Judge Morawiec took part in “settling” the resolution of a known businessman.
“The businessman confirmed that he met with the judge Morawiec and stated that in thanks he gave her a mobile phone. The disciplinary court refused to repeal the immunity of Judge Morawiec and therefore did not hear the allegations” – described Zbigniew Ziobro.
He also referred to MP Krzysztof Brejza. “Don't preach propaganda on this subject” – said Zbigniew Ziobro, when asked by Patryk Jaskulski about the case of surveillance. “I learned about the case at the late stage, I read a request to repeal immunity,” said the former minister.
“Why was a report to surveillance with Pegasus only a year after surveillance?” – A member of the commission Patryk Jaskulski asked. “Do not trivialize this matter,” Zripdzał Zbigniew Ziobro.
