The retaining walls in the Krasnoyarsk watermen turned into an open -air gallery

The artists of the Krasnoyarsk Youth Center “Mirror” drew on the retaining walls in the vodniki of graffiti, the city hall said.

The transformation was carried out on Alyosha Timoshenkov Street, 74a as part of the Open Wall project. For work, ten professional artists from the Mirror Youth Center were invited. All authors worked in their style so that each work had an individual.

“There are no strict sketches here, the guys work in different styles. This is not just graffiti, but a way to show that art is accessible and free. Previously, we choose a place, get permission and consent from the district administration. Then we give artists a platform for self-expression so that they do not spoil the walls, but create something beautiful legally, ”said Daria Dmitrieva, director of the Mirror Youth Center.

Before starting work, they held an exit meeting at which they determined on which walls the images will appear. Also, dry branches were removed around the subpes and the bushes were cut. This was done by the mobile team of the district administration. ​

“This is not our first joint work with the youth center. In the Sverdlovsk district there are several more spaces decorated with the open walls of the project. There is a road nearby, a staircase to kindergarten, a pedestrian path. And instead of the graffiti city, the city with prohibited links, Krasnoyarsk residents will delight bright drawings. Residents of the house have already noted that the place has become more comfortable and alive, ”said Dmitry Prokudin, the acting head of the district administration.
