The new plan of Chisinau, more ambitious than ever. When Moldova could enter the EU and how Romania can help: “everything is not to intervene”

Step, the party of Maia Sandu, has won the parliamentary elections in Chisinau, and the European path of the Republic of Moldova will continue, despite the great challenges that await it. A former Moldovan minister and a world -class political scientist, decorated by the French state, explains, for “Adevărul”, which should be the expectations for the European integration of the Republic of Moldova.

The European dream continues in the Republic of Moldova, thanks to the fact that the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) of Maia Sandu has obtained a new majority in the legislative. From now on, Moldovans are even more ambitious. After they have managed to dispel the treacherous plans of the Kremlin to throw the country back into chaos, at the feet of the Russian Federation, Chisinau wants to conclude the process of European integration even until the following elections. It is an ambitious project, but which, hopes for the neighboring country.
The political scientist Sergiu Miscoiu, first-rate expert and decorated by the French state with the officer medal of academic laurels for his academic activity, professor at Babeș-Bolyai Cluj University and Paris-Est Créteil University, believes that Chisinau's optimism can be the fuel for the Republic of Moldova to self-meet and to be admitted to the European Union. However, there is a “if” and a “gift”.
When could the Republic of Moldova become part of the EU
“The term of 5-6 years is not unrealistic at all. If Moldova negotiates well and makes terms properly, but even if, especially if the geopolitical situation will be such as to allow it, I do not see why not. Catastrophes, then I think there is a good dose of realism in advance of such terms between 5-6, let's say 5 and 10”Says the teacher from Cluj.

The well -known Moldovan politician Anatol Şalaru, former Minister of Defense and Transport in his country, is convinced that the Republic of Moldova can completely integrate into the European Union by 2030.
“We can be optimistic, we can hope that we will quickly go through the path of integration, even if it will not be simple. I think that in the next 4-5 years we will see the Republic of Moldova in the European Union, because the events hurry. Everything hurries and the European Union understands that it cannot leave the Republic of Moldova in the area of Russia. Moldova is not fully prepared to adhere to the European Union, but it can recover throughout.”Says Salaru.
Romania, the most important ally for Chisinau
As for the way Romania understood to help the Republic of Moldova, Anatol Șalaru has only words of praise. In his opinion, Romania did the most for the Republic of Moldova among all the well -intentioned states.
“I believe that Romania did more than it was asked and did more than some expected. The Republic of Moldova always had two foreign ministers, had two presidents, had two prime ministers, because Romania has always been our lawyer and we were with us”, Points out Salaru.

Sergiu Mişcoiu has higher expectations from Romania and says that Bucharest will have to support the Republic of Moldova further, on all levels.
“Romania, first of all, learned from the Republic of Moldova, which means to dismant some hostile networks working with colleagues from various international structures, representatives of the services of some friendly states. I learned what it means to put foot on the threshold of an attempt to destabilize. Seriously the role of spokesman in Europe of the Republic of Moldova, bringing money for Moldova, bringing logistical support, making it from the European integration of the Republic of Moldova an objective that is consonant with the country's country objective”He emphasizes. On the other hand, Romania will have to support the Republic of Moldova for the two states to be part of the same European Union, and by this it is as a single state, with common and important interests.
How to look at the result of Chisinau
Regarding the result of the elections in the Republic of Moldova, although PAS won the majority, Sergiu Mişcoiu does not sleep on an ear. The invisible war in this country will continue, but pro-Western have won some extremely important battles.
“Of course the result is not as satisfying. But then there were completely special conditions and I had Maia Sandu who had an overwhelming influence on the whole political spectrum, chosen for the first time. But now we are in a very different case. The PAS party was in government, eroded, as well as the president of Maia Sandu. In order to win these elections, we can say that under these conditions the result is an exceptional one, an unexpected one ”, consider Miscoiu.
Even though the surveys announced that the pro-European and pro-Russian starting from sensibly equal positions, things changed along the way. Sergiu Miscoiu explains the secret of this victory of the step.
“The major imbalance has occurred in the last days, especially in the last seven days, when this Russian conspiracy has been disappointed. And because many Moldovans who may have been tempted to vote with the patriotic block have realized that they are the victims Electoral to reach the Parliament, the world was removed from the hardest, the coolest and most neosovietic vein. Explains Professor Sergiu Miscoiu.
Special case for Igor Dodon
On the other hand, even politicians like Igor Dodon ran at low speed, which made the pro-Russian camp.
“There was also a lack of combat, at least after the wave of arrests from Moldova from Dodon. He was not so convinced that he wanted power, not because he would not want his power in himself, but because he knew that he would like his power and would have to do for Russia a series of things to be hired and some of which could not be a person. The Republic of Moldova for Dodon, at least, was seen that it was not very involved with the protests.”, Points out Sergiu Miscoiu.
Instead, the fanatical supporters of the Russian Federation hardly digest this failure. Their defeat is all the more difficult as they lost at the end of last year and the presidentials, and their prospects are not the most pink, from their point of view. “Those who are really frustrated, the ultra-pro-Soviet environments in the Republic of Moldova are nothing more than the former president of the Republic. Dodon can also be angry, but most likely he even suits this that this happened. It would have been too much for him to do what would have been forced to do from Moscow,”says Professor Sergiu Miscoiu.
